CDAC
professes the policy of establishing the balance between
research and teaching for higher education. Thus, fundamental
premise of the academic culture at the Center is the inter-mixing
and interaction of research and education. While advancing
knowledge and understanding, it is expected that the research
activity would provide experience in theory and experimentation
for students and professionals, and at the same time it
would ensure that classroom teaching remains up-to-date
and relevant. Simultaneously, the teaching activity is
expected to provide an ambience in which the relevance,
accomplishments and vitality of its research are concurrently
embedded in the knowledge up- gradation process to provide
a competitive edge to the students and professionals.
The
Research Perspective Plan for higher education covers
the following:
1. Development of technologies in emerging areas of Information
Technology benchmarked to international standards.
2. Increasing R&D productivity in the above areas
in terms of manpower performance.
3. Consolidating the existing distinct capabilities of
CDAC, Noida and to continue acquiring state of the art
skills.
Integration
of both research and teaching at CDAC, Noida aims to sharpen
the focus on knowledge application in solving real life
industrial problems and creation of intellectual property.
Interaction
with Industry
A
large number of distinguished organizations interact with
the Institute through research and consultancy services,
which bear testimony to the important role played by the
Institution in national development. The Institute on
request also undertakes specific tailor made courses for
personnel from the Industry.
The focus of Consultancy Services is on Enterprise Resource
Planning, Corporate Strategy, Business Process Engineering,
GIS, CRM and Networking & Customization of Software
Applications. In the Hardware Systems, the unit undertakes
Requirement Analysis, Design, Simulation, Prototyping,
Testing and Complete Technology Development and Transfer.
Pioneering efforts have been made by the Institute to
make available a number of technology packages to various
organizations in the country. This has resulted in development
of interdisciplinary research linkages between the institution
and various industries. A number of technologies/processes
are available for commercial exploitation.
The Unit has established collaboration alliance with global
technology leaders like Microsoft, IBM, Compaq and Oracle.
For enhancing R&D academia interface, working relationships
have also been established with Institutions like IIT
(Roorkee), GGSIP University Delhi and AICTE, New Delhi.
